Shadow love

My love is like a shadow.

Long when the sun is low

Squat and fat when it’s high

Lost, when clouds fill the sky.

Ripples when I run, still

When I stand;

Sliced to pieces on the hill

Endless, in the evening, on the sand

Crisp in the morning light

Gone at night.
